From the ValMalenco mountains, OVM monitors the sky with passion, technology and dedication to astronomy.

Who We Are

OVM (Osservatorio astronomico ValMalenco) is a private cultural observatory active in ValMalenco since 2011, created to bring astronomical observing closer to the public. It is registered with the Minor Planet Center as K43 and is active in minor-body monitoring and digital astrophotography.

The OVM all-sky installation is also a hands-on engineering project, combining optical layout, enclosure and environmental protection, electronics, calibration, image processing and dedicated software into one custom observing system.
