How to read the observing window
RAIN / SNOWBlue cells = rain, value in mm for that hour. Ice cells + ❄ = snowfall, value in cm for that hour. — = none forecast.
TEMP °CContinuous heatmap: blue near −15 °C → neutral around +7 °C → orange/red toward +30 °C.
SEEING · arcsecSmaller is better. Displayed values are representatives of 7Timer 3 h model classes.0.5″ best model class  ·  1.5″  ·  2.0″  ·  3.0″+ poor
TRANSPARENCYEXC → GOOD → FAIR → POOR → BAD. Lighter cells mean better model transparency.EXC  ·  GOOD  ·  FAIR  ·  POOR  ·  BAD
ASTRONOMY MODEL NOTE Seeing and transparency come from a 3 h 7Timer model forecast and are repeated across the corresponding hourly cells. In complex Alpine terrain, local and orographic turbulence can make actual OVM seeing substantially worse than the model value.
Forecast guidance only. OVM Safety continues to come exclusively from EAST Weather Core.

New snowfall is a model estimate, not measured ski-base depth. The five elevations bracket the Valmalenco / Bernina / Engadin environment.

Sources & Interpretation

Measured OVM weather and Safety come from observatory instrumentation. Forecast panels use external advisory sources. Radar-DPC provides observed surface rainfall intensity; EUMETSAT Cloud Mask provides observed clear/cloud classification, with Radar-DPC IR10.8 fallback if the cloud service is unavailable. The Swiss forecast remains useful for Bernina–Engadin disturbances approaching Valmalenco.
